Police in Mashonaland West have launched a manhunt for Trymore Tore (37), who is wanted in connection with three murder cases that occurred on February 16, 2025, in Mubairecheni village, Chief Chundu, Hurungwe district.

Mashonaland West police provincial spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, confirmed the search and urged members of the public to assist with information on the suspect's whereabouts.

"ZRP Mashonaland West would like to appeal to the general public with information on the whereabouts of Trymore Tore (37), who is wanted in connection with three murder cases which occurred on February 16, 2025, in Mubairecheni village, Chief Chundu, Hurungwe, to report at any nearest police station," said Assistant Inspector Kohwera.

Contrary to earlier claims, he clarified that the suspect had not yet been arrested.

The gruesome discovery was made on February 17 when the bodies of three victims were found in different locations within the village.

The first victim, Moline Chibayanzara (21), who was the suspect's wife, was found dead in a pit latrine with multiple head injuries. Her body had been wrapped in a blanket.

The second victim, a 17-year-old female juvenile and the suspect's niece, was found about 60 metres from the suspect's homestead with a swollen head and a cut on her forehead. Her body had been covered with tree branches, and a knife was found beside it.

The third victim, Kuwesu Masawu (53), the village head, was discovered in a shallow grave behind the suspect's house. He had been decapitated and had a deep cut on the neck.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the murders may have stemmed from ongoing domestic disputes between the suspect and his wife.

"The suspect and his wife were allegedly heard quarrelling at their homestead on February 15, 2025. The third victim was last seen going to mediate a dispute between the couple, while the second victim was also last seen going to the suspect's homestead to watch movies on February 16, 2025," Assistant Inspector Kohwera said.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that may lead to Tore's arrest to report to the nearest police station. The police continue their search for the suspect, and the community remains on high alert following the tragic events.
