Teenager jailed for stealing cellphone batteries

A Notorious cell phone batteries thief Givemore Sibanda (18) has been caged by Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware today.
Sibanda was sentenced to 40 months in jail and the magistrate conditionally suspended 16 months.
He will serve two years in jail.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that on December 22 last year at Ingwizi Business Centre, Mphoengs Sibanda broke into Tanget Tichaona's shop and stole cell phone batteries.
Sibanda was arrested on April 12 after he broke into another shop at the same business centre.
On April 13 they proceeded to his place of residence and discovered the stolen batteries valued at US$3076.
