Zimbabwe is this week hosting a high-powered delegation from global investment powerhouse Zotus Group, which is in the country from May 9 to 14, 2025, to explore large-scale investment opportunities across infrastructure and other critical sectors of the economy.

The delegation includes Zotus Group Ambassador and former Liverpool and England football star Emile Heskey, who will be engaging top Government officials and leaders from the local private sector during the six-day mission.

Heskey also attended the Scottland FC soccer match.

Zotus Group, which has already made a mark in Africa and Asia through transformative projects, is renowned for spearheading the US$50 billion Zotus City smart city initiative in partnership with the Government of Botswana. Its visit to Zimbabwe marks a significant step in the group's strategic African expansion, with a focus on partnering governments to deliver inclusive and impactful development.

"Infrastructure is the foundation of economic transformation," said Mr Heskey. "It is a privilege to be part of a team that is driving real change across the continent. I am excited to witness the potential Zimbabwe holds and how Zotus can play a role in unlocking that future."

The Zotus team is working in collaboration with senior stakeholders from the United Arab Emirates, with a packed itinerary that includes site visits, stakeholder engagements, and strategic meetings aimed at identifying high-impact investment projects.

Zotus Group chief executive Mr Davison Simango, a Zimbabwean by birth, described the visit as a deeply personal mission.

"It is an incredible privilege to return home, not just as a son of Zimbabwe, but as a partner in progress," he said. "This country raised me, shaped me, and gave me my first dreams. Now, I return with the global reach and resources of Zotus Group to help build the Zimbabwe we all know is possible."

The visit comes as Zimbabwe's Second Republic continues to court international investors, particularly in the infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and technology sectors, as part of its broader economic transformation and development agenda.

Zotus Group's model revolves around connecting visionary governments with global capital, technical expertise, and strategic partnerships to deliver development at scale.

More details on the delegation's programme are expected to be released in the coming days.
