The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange Limited (ZSE) has unveiled Data Direct, a new artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled platform designed to improve access to comprehensive market data as part of its digital transformation strategy.

According to ZSE Chief Executive Officer Mr. Justin Bgoni, the platform was officially launched after a successful soft rollout in April 2025, during which feedback from users helped shape a more efficient and user-friendly system. Data Direct provides extensive market information for both the ZSE and the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX), including end-of-day reports, historical data, and access to live trading via a View-Only Terminal (VOT).

"Data Direct is a user-friendly and AI-enabled platform that consolidates market data from both ZSE and VFEX on one platform," Mr. Bgoni said. He explained that while other platforms such as ZSE Direct and VFEX Direct have simplified trading for retail investors by providing key market statistics, Data Direct aims to offer an all-encompassing solution for investors seeking comprehensive information to inform their decisions.

The platform operates on a subscription basis, offering three flexible packages that clients can subscribe to for periods of three, six, or twelve months. Users can customise their subscriptions by adding specific statistics relevant to their needs. Payment is facilitated through an integration with Paynow, allowing clients to subscribe via multiple payment methods.

Data Direct offers real-time and historical market data supported by AI-generated insights to help investors better understand market trends. Its View-Only Terminal enables users to watch live trading sessions for both ZSE and VFEX, keeping them informed of market movements as they happen. This feature is intended to empower investors to make timely and well-informed decisions.

Mr. Bgoni emphasized that Data Direct is a significant step forward in the ZSE's commitment to digital innovation and improving investor experience. He said the launch demonstrates the exchange's dedication to making market information more accessible, transparent, and useful for all stakeholders involved.

"Data Direct marks an important milestone in our efforts to transform how market data is delivered, ensuring it is accessible and investor-friendly," he concluded.
