Stanbic named best banking brand in Zimbabwe

Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe has been named the Best Banking Brand in Zimbabwe by the internationally acclaimed Global Brands Magazine, further cementing its reputation as a leader in the financial services sector. The recognition marks another milestone in the bank's impressive awards trajectory and highlights its consistent commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

The award, part of the 12th edition of the Global Brands Magazine Awards, celebrates institutions that have excelled in performance, innovation, and branding across various sectors. Each year, the publication conducts a comprehensive evaluation through an external research team to identify companies that set themselves apart in their respective industries. This year, Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe emerged as the top performer in the banking sector due to its exceptional delivery of services, innovative strategies, and strong brand identity.

Global Brands Magazine, a UK-based publication renowned for tracking top-tier global brands, praised Stanbic for its contribution to Zimbabwe's banking landscape. In its statement, the magazine said Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe had demonstrated excellence in innovation, customer experience, and robust operational performance - making it a standout financial institution within the Standard Bank Group and across the region.

The award comes on the back of a string of accolades that Stanbic Bank has collected over the past year. In 2024, it was named the Overall Best-Performing Bank at the Banks and Banking Survey Awards and also took home the Bank of the Year Zimbabwe title, awarded by The Banker, a leading London-based financial publication.

Stanbic Bank Chief Executive Solomon Nyanhongo has also received widespread recognition for his leadership. Last year, he was awarded both the Overall CEO of the Year and the Banking Sector CEO of the Year at the prestigious CEO Round Table Awards. These honors reflected his effective stewardship in steering the bank through a competitive and often unpredictable economic environment.

Under Nyanhongo's leadership, the bank achieved top marks in areas such as corporate strategy, digital transformation, customer service, ethical management, and product innovation. Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe's success is not new. Over the years, it has consistently received recognition for its performance and innovation in both local and international arenas. Among its past honors are awards for Best Bank in Zimbabwe by EMEA Finance in several years, including 2024, 2023, 2021, 2020, and earlier. In 2015, it was named the Best Investment Bank in Zimbabwe and was also recognized by the Global Investor Group for its outstanding custody services.
