Controversial Australia-based Zimbabwean activist Susan Mutami has reached out publicly to former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa, pleading for reconciliation and suggesting the possibility of having a daughter together - at the request of their son, Tino.

In a heartfelt message posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Mutami said their young son had been persistently asking for a baby sister, inspired by his daycare friend's family. She expressed her desire to fulfil her son's wish and urged Mliswa to engage in dialogue for the child's emotional well-being.

"Dear Temba Mliswa, your son has asked me countless times if he can have a baby sister and the young man is sad because his best friend at daycare has a baby sister at home but he doesn't," Mutami wrote. "I told him he has a lot of sisters in Zimbabwe but he's insisting he wants a baby sister. In my house whatever Tino wants, Tino gets."
Mutami also revealed she had unblocked Mliswa on social media to facilitate communication and invited him to speak with their children. In a surprising turn, she suggested exiled former cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere - a known political heavyweight - as a potential mediator.

"I've unblocked you so that you can talk to the boys and I would also appreciate we have a mediator - someone like Kasukuwere who I respect so much, munhu mukuru wandinonyara," she added. "Titaurirane hopefully he might assist us in ironing out our differences for Tino's sake."

The activist, who has made numerous headlines for her claims involving political figures, added that her son misses his father deeply and constantly tries to locate him on the world map - a touching detail that underscored the emotional weight of her plea.

"The boy misses you so much. He's always locating you on the World Map. His older brother has been teaching him how to read the map so they never forget how to get back home."

Mliswa, a former independent MP known for his outspokenness and high-profile disputes, has yet to publicly respond to the appeal.

The message has since sparked a mixture of reactions online, with some praising Mutami's apparent olive branch while others questioned the sincerity and timing of her plea, given the turbulent history between the two.

Whether this unusual public overture will thaw relations between the estranged pair - and possibly lead to the arrival of a "baby sister" for Tino - remains to be seen.
