EcoCash has officially launched the seventh edition of its popular ChakaChaya/Ziyawa neEcoCash promotion, offering more than 200,000 customers the chance to win prizes that range from household appliances and solar systems to international holidays.
Running from June 19 to August 28, 2025, the campaign promises exciting rewards including a grand holiday to Dubai and an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament set to take place in Morocco. Other prizes up for grabs include smartphones, grocery vouchers, gas stoves, farming tools, deep freezers, and even livestock.
The launch of the latest edition comes just months after the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe named ChakaChaya the 2024/25 Best Promotion of the Year, applauding its high levels of innovation and customer engagement.
"We are happy to be able to recognise and reward the loyalty of our customers. ChakaChaya is our way of saying ‘Thank you' to the millions of Zimbabweans who use and rely on EcoCash every day," an EcoCash spokesperson said during the launch.
Participation in the promotion is open to all EcoCash users. Customers earn one point for every US$1 or ZIG equivalent transacted using EcoCash, while transactions made via the EcoCash App earn double points. Weekly draws are open to those who accumulate 20 points each week, while customers who reach 100 points over the full campaign period qualify for the grand prize draw. Those who accumulate 500 points or more qualify for the top-tier rewards, including trips to Dubai and AFCON.
The campaign employs a tiered reward system to ensure inclusivity. Customers earning between 20 and 49 points are eligible for airtime and instant cash, while those in the 50 to 99 point range may win grocery vouchers or gas stoves. At 100 points, prizes include smartphones, cows, motorbikes, and deep freezers. The highest reward tier, reserved for customers with more than 500 points, includes premium prizes such as full solar systems and overseas travel.
"We have deliberately designed this campaign to ensure that rewards are accessible across all customer segments. Whether one transacts occasionally or frequently, everyone stands a chance to win," added the EcoCash spokesperson.
Customers can check their accumulated points by dialing 1517#, and winners will be notified through SMS, the EcoCash microsite, and the company's official social media platforms.
Launched in 2018, the ChakaChaya/Ziyawa promotion has become a hallmark of EcoCash's annual engagement strategy. Previous editions have seen lucky winners walk away with school fees, farming equipment, and international travel packages, reinforcing the platform's commitment to customer appreciation and reward.
