Fishmonger drowns

Villagers of Gombamwa in Bindura under Chief Masembura are mourning their fishmonger who died while casting nets at Masembura dam in Bindura.

Tonderai Chingoma slipped into the Dam from his swimming tube and drowned.

Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the case.

"I can confirm a case of sudden death in Bindura where Chingoma drowned while casting his fishing nets yesterday, " Mundembe said.

It is alleged that his body was found floating in the dam by Paradzai Nyika, who subsequently filed a police report.

The body was retrieved and taken to Bindura Hospital.

Police warned people to desist from playing in or near water bodies.
