THE Acting Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Dr Joseph Made has assured the nation that the government is in control and citizens should not be deterred from going about with their business.

Dr Made told the ZBC News that the government has ensured that all those seeking to cause civil unrest will be dealt with by the law.

In a related issue, the Zanu-PF National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere has warned opposition parties against encouraging acts of violence in the country.

Addressing  Zanu-PF supporters in Mazowe today, Kasukuwere, who is also the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing said opposition parties that try to instigate instability in the country will pay the price.

"We are aware that some opposition parties are taking advantage of the recent import regulations on foreign goods to incite people to cause mayhem, but Zanu-PF will not be shaken  by failed political misfits bent on promoting the regime change agenda," said Kasukuwere.

Speaking at the same occasion, the Minister of Defence, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi urged Zimbabweans to remain united, saying the government is making strides towards addressing the  challenges facing the country.

"The country is facing many  problems at the moment but I want to assure you that the President [Robert Mugabe] is aware of the situation and is doing  everything possible to insure that these challenges are addressed," said Dr Sekeramayi.

The government has since made it clear that the policy to restrict the importation of selected commodities will not be reversed since it is in the interest  of the  country .
