Methodist Church clash with council, BSPZ, SDA and Printers company over stand
5 hrs ago | Views

The Methodist Church in Filabusi has clashed with the Insiza Rural District Council, the Seventh Day Adventist, the Better Schools Programme Zimbabwe and a Printers company in Filabusi business centre after it's church stand was encroached into by the three institutions there by reducing it's size.
This was revealed by the Methodist Church Properties Official Sibongile Sibanda who said they had tried on several instances to resolve the issue amicably, but it appears no significant change has been made.
"The council is not clear on the issue of stand. The councillor engineer cut our stand in dimacating ours from the SDA, the BSPZ and the Printers. They all are into our original stand," she said.
She said due to their complaints, the council ammended the map but on the ground it's not even corrected. She said they want that corrected once and for all
"The measurements they have amended on the map for Methodist are not the one on the ground. We are complaining that our stand and our meter and water had to be on the BSPZ side . This made our stand to be very small. While SDA made false extension and cut part of our stand, but in the map they have reduced trying to correct tw SDA stand, on the other side of the SDA stand they increased giving it a provision where it encroaches on the road. We have no problem with the favours they make to SDA, but as Methodists Church we want our stand in it's full state, between is no need to push us towards the road close to police camp," Sibanda said.
"Along that road there are ZESA poles as power lines. ZESA does not want any structures along it's power lines and this poses danger to us too. Even physical planning when it wants to extennd the raid it will affect us. Now we say we want out stand piece from BSPZ and from the Printers company.. The council only returned the SDA side."
