Son bashes father's girlfriend

An angry son allegedly bashed his father's girlfriend with a sjambok in a bush, accusing her of making the family suffer as the father is spending more on her than on his family.
The matter came to light at Plumtree magistrates' courts yesterday, where Lorrance Moyo (20) appeared before magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware sentenced Nkomo to 18 months in prison.
Nkomo was lucky to escape jail after the magistrate conditionally suspended the sentence to 210 hours of community service.
The court heard that on May 27, Sitshengiswe Nkomo closed her shop around 1800 hours and proceeded home.
On her way home, he met Nkomo, who was holding a sjambok, accusing her of cheating with his father.
He assaulted her all over her body, saying she was making their family suffer as the father was no longer supporting them.
A police report was filed, leading to the arrest of Nkomo.
