Time to outlaw SADC
2 hrs ago | Views
The SADC organisation has to be outlawed or changed to reflect contemporary politics.
Africa needs to wake up and oppose this kind of group, which has abandoned its mission to serve the interests of the majority in favour of advancing its own agenda.
This is advantageous to the group, which is why it occasionally occurs during election seasons. The SADC chairman never mentioned or even coughed during the countrywide unrest in Mozambique and the boycott due to the rigged elections.
There was evidence in the video, where Zimbabweans confessed that they were given Mozambiquean IDs so they could vote for the ruling party in Mozambique. Sadc did not even attempt to investigate such damaging allegations.
The same scenario happened in Zimbabwe; when Mugabe was losing power to Morgan Tsvangirai, he deployed Border Gezi trainees to terrorise opposition members through burning their houses and beating them. During that time we experienced SADC inactivity.
Zimbabweans cried in agony, and no one paid attention to them.
The same narrative was repeated in Zimbabwe's political discourse in 2018. Following a delay in the announcement of the election results, the populace took to the streets to demand their release. Mnangagwa's administration then unleashed the army, which resulted in the deaths of seven people.
Justice has not yet been served, and Sadc has not compelled the authorities to carry out the Mothlante Commission's recommendations.
The SADC region's citizens ought to band together to oppose these dishonest liberation groups.
The Mnangagwa dictatorship must answer for bringing corruption, electoral tampering, and other evils to southern Africa.
The Zanufication of Namibia is booming, and ZANU PF recently contributed to the SWAPO election campaign. Namibia is going to the polls today. They simply need to act on the political debate and do the right thing. Given the same threat, Botswana might have done the same.
Change is possible. Things do not remain the same for a very long time. Since many young people were born after them or cannot recall them, the allure of the liberation movement is waning for these Sadc revolutionary organisations.
