Zimbabwean mobile operators record revenue jump

Mobile Network Operators revenues for the third quarter to September 2016 jumped 20.4 percent from $161.5 million to $194.5 million as total telecommunications revenue also increased 14.5 percent to $262 million.

In its report for the quarter under review, the Potraz said MNOs had accounted for the major chunk of total sector revenue after contributing 71.8 percent followed by Internet Access Providers (IAPs) which chipped in 14.5 percent of the total followed by fixed telephone operators and postal and courier providers who accounted 10.4 percent and 3.2 percent of the revenue respectively.
