NetOne promotion awards an hour of free calls for a $1 top-up

As the fight for market share among mobile phone networks continues, NetOne has announced that it will this weekend launch a new prepaid promotion dubbed the Happy Hour.
This promotion will award a subscriber who recharged with $1 worth of airtime, an hour of free NetOne to NetOne calls from 6am to 6pm of the day of recharge and after 6pm up to the following day at 6am one enjoys free calls on the network.
This will also come with free data accessible from time of recharge to 6am of the following day. When one recharges with $5 they enjoy five hours of free net calls from time of recharge up to 6pm of the same day and beyond 6pm everyone who recharges enjoys free net calls until the following morning.
The $5 recharge comes with 5MB free data enjoyable from recharge to the following morning.
This promotion follows hot on the heels of another massively popular dollar a day promotion which ran in July and was extended by popular demand to 30 August.
NetOne marketing and sales director Mrs Memory Ndoro-Mandiya said the recently ended promotion was well received by their subscribers.
"This promotion was widely received across the expanse of the country by all our prepaid subscribers.
Even our Facebook page was inundated with requests to extend the promotion and we heeded the calls of our subscribers. We have crafted this new one for them to keep on enjoying calling each other on their network," she said.
She also elaborated that the happy hour awarded to subscribers is redeemable in flexible times.
"The free airtime from time of recharge is redeemable in flexible time frames as it is not fixed to just the hour after recharge.
You redeem your airtime as you wish up to 6pm of the same day. Beyond that all subscribers who would have recharged will get free net calls," said Mrs Mandiya.
The other two networks, Econet and Telecel have also been running promotions and network upgrades, intensifying competition in the telecoms industry. NetOne has of late been on a recent power drive to increase broadband coverage. Recently there were new base stations that were set up in Masvingo, Hanyanya in Bikita, Zvishavane, Ruwa, Chitungwiza and parts of Harare like Mbare, Kuwadzana, Mabvuku, Tafara, Glen View, Graniteside and many other areas to add muscle to the broadband coverage of mobile network operator.
