On display at the beautifully branded stand were a large variety of National Foods foodstuffs, including Red Seal white rice, the unique 2kg packet of Pearlenta maize meal, soya mince, Better Buy white and Better Buy parboiled rice, as well as other Red Seal products, various types of Gloria flour, such as self-raising, plain and brown flour, and other brands of rice, including Mahatma rice.
National Foods has participated in ZITF since its inception in 1960 regardless of the micro and macro environmental challenges that have occurred at various times.
The company has grown to become the largest manufacturer and marketer of food products in Zimbabwe, with Red Seal and Gloria being its flagship brands. Red Seal products include maize-meal, salt, rice, flour, mixed fruit jam, peanut butter, popcorn and sugar beans.
The National Foods packaging plant in Mutare packages a number of brands of rice imported from Asia, all of which are popular with different market segments.
Biproducts from its milling processes are used in the production of its wide range of stockfeeds.
National Foods had a separate stockfeed stand at the Trade Fair, featuring not only its stockfeeds but many of the animals for which the stockfeed is produced.
Amai Mugabe and Retired Chief Justice Banda also visited the stockfeed 'farm' at the Trade Fair.
