Beverages group, Delta Corporation has launched a promotion to push sales volumes of its quart and magnum beers on the market.
Faced with a four percent slump in sales, Delta is hoping that the $150 000 Big Cheer Promotion will push volumes of beers packaged in quart and magnum bottles.
The quart has a capacity of 750ml while the premium brand magnum is in 630ml bottles.
Speaking at the launch of the promotion to traders in Bulawayo on Friday night, an official at Delta said some years ago, the quart used to be popular on the market when it was known as "headmaster".
"The promotion seeks to arrest sales volumes decline of four percent on the national market. Back in the days, many people used to admire the big pack but it seems to be fading away," he said.
The grand prize winner will walk away with a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, while there would be three regional prizes of smaller Chevrolet cars.
The competition will also see weekly prizes of $50 cash given to 150 people with a total of $60 000 in cash to be given out, while traders stand a chance to win one of 275.5kva generators. The promotion will run for 8 weeks.
