Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) is restructuring its operations in editorial, advertising and distribution departments which could result in some positions with the organisation being made redundant.
AMH Chief Executive Officer Raphael Khumalo announced that the restructuring exercise was to ensure that all parts of the business were working optimally towards a single goal to provide good value to advertisers and readers on all its platforms; print, mobile and online.
In a press release, AMH said: "Key to the restructuring exercise will be the converging of newsrooms of its four titles to eliminate duplication and better utilise the editorial talent in the group."
Khumalo further announced that the restructuring could result in some positions within the organisation being made redundant. Accordingly, staffing needs would be reassessed and AMH was offering voluntary severance as an option to right-size the media house and to manage costs.
He said the group was transforming to become a lean and truly hybrid publisher.
