INGWEBU Breweries on Friday launched their "Ingwebu KwejisaLathi" winter promotion in a bid to increase sales and strengthen its market base.
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch, Ingwebu Breweries general manager Prince Ndlovu said sales have been on a decline of late owing to the biting liquidity crisis affecting the country.
"We want to increase our sales as we have not been doing well of late. Our sales have been going down due to the liquidity crunch hence people have not been buying the product," he said.
"We do not want to lose our patronage and that is why we want to work together with our franchisees to put into good use the opportunity presented by the Soccer World Cup. Most people love to watch soccer while they drink hence we will put that into good use," said Ndlovu.
He said they expect the sales to increase by at least 12 percent by the end of the promotion. At the moment sales are averaging 35 percent.
Ndlovu said they want to get closer to their customers and encourage them to buy the product at affordable prices to ensure that they stay afloat despite the liquidity challenges faced.
"We also want to strengthen relations with our partners so that we grow together and ensure that we encourage our customers to continue buying the products," he said.
Ndlovu said their initiative to introduce their products in other provinces is still at a developing stage as they are focusing on other projects.
"Our plan of introducing our products to other places like the Midlands and other areas where it is not found has not been suspended. We are still trying to focus on building a stronger market base in our different markets and increase our penetration into those markets before we can introduce it in new areas," he said.
The winter promotion will run from June 1 to August 31 2014 and two mini grand draws will be held during the monthend of June and July respectively and the final grand draw will be held on August 31.
