Zimbabwean Hotels 20% cheaper

Local hotel rates are 20% cheaper than other hospitality facilities in the region, African Sun chief executive Shingi Munyeza said.

Munyeza said that despite market perception that the rates being offered by hospitality players were too high, compared with the rest of the region, the rates remain the most favourable.

While the local market is bemoaning high rates being charged by hoteliers, Zimbabwe has the lowest charges in the region by 20%.

Munyeza said for five star accommodation in any local hotel, one pays between $180 to $300 and while in countries like Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia they charge between $250 to $500 for the same starred accommodation.
