AIR Zimbabwe pilots yesterday wenton strike again demanding their outstanding salaries and allowances.

The national airline's board chairman Mr Jonathan Kadzura and acting chief executive officer Mr Innocent Mavhunga confirmed the strike yesterday.

They, however, indicated that the issue had been resolved after they managed to secure money to pay all the workers.

It is understood that all workers at the airline had not been paid since April.

Kadzura said everybody is back at work except for the pilots (who had gone on strike) otherwise everyone else was working.

Mr Mavhunga said workers had been paid part of their allowances, while negotiations were still in progress.

A manager at the troubled airline who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the pilots had decided to down their tools despite Mr Kadzura's assurance to pay them yesterday.

Such strikes usually cost the airline millions of dollars for failing to fly.
