Telecel Zimbabwe inks pre-paid roaming deals with 7 countries

Telecel Zimbabwe announced Wednesday that it has entered into roaming agreements with seven countries for its prepaid customers and added 58 international data roaming deals for its post-paid subscribers.

Telecel Zimbabwe spokesperson Obert Mandimika said in a statement that the mobile operator had concluded roaming agreements with operators in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa, among others.

He did not disclose the three other countries with which the company had signed roaming for its pre-paid subscribers.

"Our pre-paid roaming service is inclusive as it allows our pre-paid customers to also enjoy roaming services which were previously available to post-paid customers only," he said.

This brings to more than 360 roaming partners for Telecel Zimbabwe's voice service.

Mandimika also revealed that Telecel had also partnered with 58 international partners to enable its post-paid subscribers to access data services while roaming abroad.

Telecel is Zimbabwe's second largest mobile operator by subscriber base, with more than two million subscribers.
