Shingi Munyeza leaves African Sun

The African Sun Group Chief Executive Officer Shingi Munyeza has left his position within the group with effec5t from today (31 March), it has been learnt.

Munyeza announced his departure from the group during the Annual General Meeting of the group. He served the organization for the past 13 years.

Through his social media wall Munyeza said, "Today, 31 March 2015, at the African Sun AGM we announced my departure as the Group CE with immediate effect to pursue other mandates in my life in line with God's call on my life."

Munyeza is a pastor and he said the need for his dedication to God's work made him to leave the CEO Job.

"It's been great to have been part of this exciting mandate from God for the past 13 years," he said. "I leave the company with a strong shareholder base, board and management. It is possible to be succeeded. I remain faithfully to the vision of African Sun. I will still remain invested in the tourism value chain. I want to thank all related stakeholders for your support and prayers as I navigated this ship during very exciting times and challenges."

Munyeza led the Hotels and tourism based institution which seemed to be vibrant and he said his experience with the group was fantastic.
