Spar issues a public warning

SPAR is aware of a number of telephone and SMS scams targeting SPAR customers. Fraudsters claiming to be from SPAR are contacting people by phone or SMS offering promotional rewards from Beitbridge SPAR. Furthermore, the fraudsters are asking each customer to provide personal banking details or to send money via ECOCASH and various money transfer services.
SPAR would like to advise its valued customers that neither Beitbridge SPAR, nor any other SPAR store, are in any way, affiliated with these fraudsters. Customers are advised not to provide any personal or financial information in response to these unsolicited phone calls or SMS. SPAR will not be responsible for - nor be held liable for - any financial losses as a result of fraudulent activity.
SPAR has taken legal action in an effort to stop such fraudulent SMS/phone calls being further disseminated.
