Insurance agent in trouble over $1100 fraud

The Evolution Insurance Company agent is in trouble after she allegedly defrauded the company of over $1100.
Farai Victor Mutero (26) of New Magwegwe Flats was not asked to plead to fraud charges when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya last week.
The magistrate further remanded him out of custody for trial.
Prosecutor Munyonga Kuvarega said on April 15 this year at 9am Chedza Ngwenya of Nkulumane who is an employee at the Evolution Insurance Company was at her workplace when Mutero who was an agent for the same company specializing in Motor vehicle insurance approached her.
Mutero allegedly took one cover note book for vehicle Insurance to go and sell vehicle Insurance. He was supposed to remit the money into company account as per agreement. He allegedly sold the insurance and in April 28 when he went to the company to cash in the money it was discover by Ngwenya that $28 was stolen and he could not explain it. On April 17 at 10am Mutero went to Ngwenya again and took another cover book for vehicle insurance to go and sell the Motor vehicle insurance. He allegedly sold the insurance. On May 14 he went to the company to surrender the cover note book and did not surrender any cash.
Ngwenya discovered that he had sold all the Insurance papers with total cost of $1075 expected from him but he did not submit it. The total amount he stole from the company was $1103 and nothing was recovered.
Ngwenya reported to the policed leading to Mutero's arrest.
