Kwekwe's oldest hotel to reopen
30 Jun 2015 at 07:58hrs | Views
Shamwari Hotel, one of Kwekwe's oldest hotels, is set to reopen after new owners injected close to $2 million for a facelift. The hotel was closed three years ago following a rental dispute accrued by TMR Holdings which was leasing the property.
Kwekwe Properties, which is led by businessman Kenias Sibanda, is reported to have invested nearly $2 million into reviving the hotel.
After the closure, Sibanda attempted to get a new operators' licence from Kwekwe City fathers, but his moves were thwarted with council demanding the hotel should undergo a facelift before it could be opened.
