Zimbabwe's regional Mining, Engineering and Transport (Mine Entra) exhibition kicks off in Bulawayo on Wednesday as the exhibition celebrates its 20th year running.
As of Tuesday, 92% of the space available had been snapped by exhibitors.
Giving an update, ZITF board chair - Bekithemba Nkomo said the exhibition organizers are excited with the milestone set.
'Mine Entra 2015 is a landmark event as the exhibition celebrates 20 years of existence. Over these past two decades, the exhibition has grown and evolved into a one-stop-shop for marketing intelligence, image-building, networking and business development for the represented industries,' said Nkomo.
The exhibition will be held under the theme "Unearthing Opportunities" - a rallying statement challenging inter-dependent sectors to uncover and take advantage of the potential, opportunities and growth prospects in the region's mining industry and related sectors.
Nkomo said 160 direct exhibitors have reserved space and foreign exhibitors are from China, South Africa and Germany.
On the opening day, there would be the Mine Entra 2015 Conference, where industry leaders would meet with key policymakers who include Mines and Mining Development minister Walter Chidhakwa, to deliberate on issues affecting the industry.
The conference has been organised in conjunction with the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe (COMZ).
On July 23, a joint suppliers and producers' conference - co-organised with COMZ - would be held. This a forum for upstream players in the mining value chain to meet with users of their products and services that are mining houses to discuss opportunities and challenges to business co-operation.
