Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) - the publisher of NewsDay, The Zimbabwe Independent, Southern Eye and The Standard - has made key executive appointments which see Vincent Kahiya assuming the position of Managing Director and Kangai Maukazuva Chief Operating Officer.

Below is a statement from Trevor Ncube, AMH chairman leaked to Bulawayo24.com

Team Alpha,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the following leadership changes in our group:

Vincent Kahiya has been appointed Managing Director of Alpha Media Holdings with effect from August 1, 2015.

Vincent joined AMH in 1997 as a reporter rising through the ranks to his new assignment. Nobody in this company knows our business better than Vincent. His passion, interpersonal skills and loyalty have all been an asset to us all.

Kangai Maukazuva has been reassigned his Chief Operating Officer role in addition to his AMH and M&G position as Group Technology Director. Kangai's appointment is also with effect from August 1st. Kangai's eye for detail, his grasp of strategy, process and technology will be crucial to the realignment that is critical for enhanced accountability and better yields.

Vincent and Kangai join Nancy Ziyambi who was recently appointed Head of Marketing and Communications in leading Team AMH.

The board will soon make other key appointments aimed at strengthening the AMH leadership team.

The board has full confidence that this results oriented team will lead our ALL HANDS ON DECK (AHOD) culture change which will see sustained cost reduction and profitable operations across our business. Please give the new leadership maximum support.

All HANDS ON DECK!!
