Telecel Zimbabwe has announced that it has more than doubled its kiosks to bring the total number of kiosks to 200. This is line with its firm long-term plans to compete much more aggressively in this market and confirms the push to continue increasing convenience and accessibility of its products and services to its customers to make their life easier.

The kiosks offer a wide range of products and services including sales of airtime to both end users and vendors, SIM cards, doing reconnections of lines and telecash cash-in and cash-out transactions. The kiosks are expected to markedly improve convenience and ease of service provision on telecash especially on cash-ins and cash-outs as they will increase availability of agents in all areas for customers needing the services.

Telecel's Chief Commercial Officer, Nkosinathi Ncube, says the retail expansion initiative is on target and is bringing added convenience to the company's subscribers to complement existing retail infrastructure. At the moment, Telecel has 24 corporate shops and 12 franchise shops countrywide

"Telecel's retail presence initiative which we launched in early July this year with the deployment of franchise shops and kiosks is on course and to date we have more than doubled the number of kiosks to a total of 200 kiosks," said Mr Ncube.

The mobile company is rolling out more kiosks nationwide over the next few months and introducing more franchise shops to ensure that its nationwide retail presence is increased in line with its customer service experience strategy.

The Telecel kiosks are providing business partnership opportunities with locals as the company seeks to empower Zimbabwean entrepreneurs and confirms its commitment to continue developing the community.

"These kiosks are empowering local business people by making them part of our business ecosystem. Entrepreneurship has become even more important than ever before because our current economic environment is characterised by a shrinking formal job market. These kiosks will help create jobs and provide income streams which are needed to improve people's lives. Telecel views these kiosks as income and job creation opportunities," said Mr Ncube.
