Govt's Telecel acquisition put on hold

Government has put on hold plans to buy the entire shareholding of mobile network operator, Telecel.
The acquisition of a stake in Telecel is not even on the ICT ministry's priorities in the 2016 national budget.
Permanent secretary in the ICT ministry, Samuel Kundishora, said the ministry is in a state of paralysis after they received almost nothing for their 2015 vote.
Kundishora had earlier told the ICT parliamentary portfolio committee that the ICT ministry was reeling from a $1.3million debt owed to various service providers, including Africom and Dexel.
