Standard Chartered Bank launches direct custody services in Zimbabwe

The bank said this expansion takes its coverage in Africa to a total of 17 markets as it already provides services in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Egypt, Cote d'Ivoire, Malawi, Morocco, Namibia, Tunisia, South Africa and Rwanda.
Standard Chartered global head of product management, investors and intermediaries Giles Elliott said they are extremely pleased and excited about their increased coverage of securities services in Zimbabwe and Nigeria, and their ability to provide custody capabilities in their core markets across Africa.
"Doing so enhances our proposition and allows us to continuously deepen our relationship with clients and support their requirements for broader regional services," Elliott added.
