The bread manufacturer, Bakers' Inn in Bulawayo has been accused of dumping its Bulawayo customers opting to supply shops in the Midlands and Masvingo a move which the business operators said it dumped their business ahead of Christmas.
Former deputy mayor of Bulawayo Amen Mpofu who operates a general dealer shop in Mpopoma said the way Bakers' Inn treated the business community and their customers during the festive season was un professional and unfortunate and a big shame.
"Here is a company that had been delivering bread daily from January to Decembe4r but only to vanish without notice or warning from December 23 to 26. There were important days to us business people and residents when i tried to find out what was happening, i was told that deliveries had been made in Midlands and Masvingo temporarily. What an insult? What was even more embarrassing and silly was a Bakers' Inn truck that was seen moving around making noise advertising the bread that was not even there in our shops. You wonder what kind of management is this," Mpofu fumed.
He however thanked the lobels for filling the gape left by Bakers' Inn saying if not of Lobels they could have not got any business on Christmas day.
