Banking sector confidence rising, says RBZ

 The RBZ says confidence is increasing in the country's troubled banking sector after deposits rose by more than $2 billion in four years.

Statistics released by the central bank show that bank deposits increased to $5,5 billion in the 12 months to September last year compared to $3,2 billion recorded in the same period in 2011.

The banking sector remained safe and sound and continued to play a significant role in the economy, the RB also said in its quarterly report for September 2015.
