The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has issued a notice to valued clients that it is implementing the tax management system for all the clients.
"Please be advised that the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has introduced a Tax Management System (TMS) for all clients, excluding those in VAT Category "C" who are already fiscalized in terms of Statutory Instrument 104, the Value Added Tax (Fiscalised Recording of Taxable Transactions) Regulations, 2010," reads Zimra notice.
"The TMS consists of the use of the following: Fiscal Cash Registers (FCR) by traders, whether registered for VAT or not and whether they are large, medium or small businesses; Automated Revenue Machines (ARM) by traders; Taxi meters by taxi cab operator."
Zimra said FCRs will enable transaction of sales data in real time to the Zimra server via the internet and transmission disc. Zimra is currently issuing FCRs to traders for no payment and clients need only have an internet facility for them to connect.
"The ARMs, which will be located at various shopping centres and Border Posts, allows submission of taxpayers' returns, customs duty declarations and payments; query accounting, verification of authenticity of invoices, etc. Currently two ARMs have been installed at Kurima House in Harare," reads the notice.
"Taxi Meters, installed inside taxis, are used to measure the duration and the mileage, calculate and display the amount payable by the client. Zimra requests that all non- fiscalized traders complete the application forms (IMS01) sent to them either by email or physically delivered and promptly return them to Kurima House or the nearest Zimra office to enable quick registration and issuance of the FCRs to them."
Zimra said the forms can be obtained on the Zimra website or you may send a request to jchiwara@zimra.co.zw or asoka@zimra.co.zw .
"For further information kindly contact Mr J.Chiwara or Mr A.Soka on the above emails or the following cellphone numbers: 0712 422 181 or 0772 413 774. E-Mail : webmaster@zimra.co.zw; pr@zimra.co.zw," reads the notice.
