Larfage Zimbabwe has urged the public to boycott overpriced cement arguing normalcy will return to the market soon as the firm resumes full production.
The company is producing between 1 000 and 1 200 tonnes of cement per day and intends to increase to 1 600 tonnes. Lafarge experienced a breakdown at its plant recently. However, operations resumed last
Thursday. The company's managing director, Mr Jonathan Shonhiwa, yesterday confirmed that their plant was "running" and that supplies would improve.
The recommended average price is US$12,50 a bag. Lafarge said they had not increased the price of cement.
