Workers resign after being let down by workers' committee

Workers at the Hwange Colliery are said to be resigning in droves after the workers committee decided to withdrew thjeir case from the courts without consulting the employees.

This was said by the People's Democratic Party Matabeleland North spokesperson Salani Nkomazana who said after a failed seat in at the coal giant Hwange colliery, company employees have resolved to resigning from the failing organisation its biggest problem is management.

"The workers have been let down by workers committee which withdraw the non payment of salaries case from the courts filed by thy predecessors.Its bad news at the colliery workers er resigning everyday hoping to get thy outstanding salaries through the courts by engaging a lawyer," Nkomazana said.

"That is the language colliery management understand. Many of us workers now we er found at ZPC Hwange station gate hoping to get a piece job from contractors at ZPC."

He same have resorted to fishing in the game park Matetsi and Deka rivers.

"A mine security guard is hospitalized after being attacked by a crocodile at one of the rivers. PDP government will respect the rights of workers to wages and salaries,to pay a worker his or her salary every pay day as per contract of employment, PDP a new Zimbabwe is possible," said Nkomazana.
