Mthuli Ncube told to decentralise budgetary allocations

The Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube has been urged to consider decentralising line ministries' budgetary allocations to provincial and district levels.
This emerged at a budgetary consultation meeting in Mt. Darwin.
The Parliamentary Committees for Budget, Finance and Economic Development held budgetary consultations in Mt. Darwin.
Key recommendations that emerged were the decentralisation of budgetary allocations, reducing government consumptive expenditure and restoring the local currency.
Chairman of the Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee Felix Mhona said the views will be consolidated and presented for consideration by the Minister in the budget formulation process.
The budget to be presented next month falls amid a host of expectations by the country's citizens and various economic sectors.
