Vice President Joice Mujuru has challenged players in the tourism sector to form alliances and partnerships both in business and culture for the growth of the tourism industry.

Officially opening the 37th annual Africa Travel Association (ATA) conference in Victoria Falls, Mujuru said Zimbabwe presents a world of opportunities that players in the tourism sector can take advantage of.

"In line with the ATA conference theme of partnering for the future, partnerships are the way forward in the tourism sector," said VP Mujuru.

Vice President Mujuru said industry players need to be open minded and ready to collaborate with various sectors in order to develop competitive products.

She also took the opportunity to announce that Zambia and Zimbabwe are ready to co-host the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly in August 2013.
