'Mpofu stalling methane gas project,' says Mangoma

Energy and Power Development minister Elton Mangoma is on a collision course with Mines and Mining Development minister Obert Mpofu after he accused the latter of stalling a methane gas project in Lupane.
Mangoma on Friday alleged Mpofu is defying a government directive to grant special concessions to an Indian company to begin work on the project.
Zimbabwe Power Company recently awarded a tender for resource mapping of coal bed methane to Water and Power Consultancy Services (Wapcos) of India to facilitate the setting up of a 500 megawatts power station.
However, the company is yet to begin the exploration work due to red tape in government.
