ZimTrade will be hosting its Annual Exporters' Conference and Exporter of the Year Awards on 30 September 2014 at the Meikles Hotel, Harare.
The 2014 Conference will be held under the theme: "CREATING BRAND ZIMBABWE".
ZimTrade Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Sithembile P Pilime, highlighted that this theme was motivated by the role that Nation Branding plays in promoting trade and investment.
"In an increasingly globalised world, the role of nation branding in facilitating trade and investment cannot be over-emphasised. Riding on the positive spinoffs from the successful hosting of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the recent conferment of Zimbabwe as the Best Tourist Destination by the European Union Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT), the country can maximise its potential for growth", said Pilime.
The Conference seeks to share best practices in export business, whilst providing a platform for the formulation of strategic business partnerships which can positively impact on employment creation and socio-economic growth. It is also a trade policy lobby platform that seeks to enhance the interface between exporters and key Government policy making structures.
The Exporter of the Year Awards, to be held on the same evening, are aimed at inculcating an export culture amongst Zimbabwean companies through recognition of those enterprises that have excelled in value added exports.
Over 200 stakeholders from the current and potential exporting community are expected to actively participate in this event.
