'Zimbabwe to remain in deflation'

An equities firm, IH Securities says Zimbabwe is expected to remain in deflation this year due to persistent weakness in the rand, subdued demand and the price correction.

IH securities said the deflationary pressures were necessary tools for the downward correction in high prices that were a legacy of economic dollarisation.

It says price reduction will persist for the rest of the year hence inflation will remain in the negative.
