Unconfirmed reports say the national airliner, Air Zimbabwe, has fired 10 of its senior managers in a move reportedly in line with the restructuring exercise recommended by a foreign investor that the airline is believed to have engaged.
Fifteen managers are said to have been summoned at the end of the day yesterday (Friday) and 10 of them were served with letters of termination of contract on three months' notice.
It is not clear whether this is part of a restructuring exercise or the ongoing investigations taking place at the parastatal.
Meanwhile, the airliner is said to be compiling a list of general staff to be sent away on three months notice.
Efforts to get a comment from the Air Zimbabwe Acting CEO Mr Edmund Makona were fruitless as his mobile phone was unreachable.
Companies are currently taking advantage of the Supreme Court ruling to terminate workers contracts on notice.
