Zimbabwe licences 20 companies to prospect for coal

Government has licensed 20 mining companies to prospect for coal in a move that is expected to facilitate the provision of adequate energy supplies. Mines and Mining Development Minister Obert Mpofu disclosed this at the ongoing third edition of the Zimbabwe Mining Indaba.
This means 15 more coal mining firms have been licensed since early this year when Minister Mpofu announced that 5 new players had been licensed to explore coal in Mat North Province.
These 5 firms were Makomo Investments, WK Blasting, Clidder, Apex and Liberation Mining.
