The visiting American business delegation says it is impressed with vast business opportunities in the country and wants to play a role in Zimbabwe's future.

Head of the delegation, Mr Elzie Higginbottom, who held a meeting with Zanu PF National Chairman, Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo, said they have established facts for themselves against negative publicity that Zimbabwe has been receiving abroad and are seeking investment opportunities.

"We have seen for ourselves that there is a tremendous opportunity for Americans to do business with Zimbabwean people," said Mr Higginbottom.

Ambassador Moyo urged the business people to find and establish opportunities, saying Zimbabwe offers an investor friendly environment.

"Opportunities are tremendous here, you can go into any area, be it mining, agriculture or tourism. There are lots of opportunities, what is important is to believe in yourselves and also believe in the situation on the ground," Ambassador Moyo said.

The American business people said their coming to Zimbabwe has altered a lot of previous negative perceptions that they had, adding that they will be looking at areas to invest in.

A number of foreign delegations have been coming into the country seeking investment opportunities in what analysts say is a reflection of shifting geo-political focus amid attempts to stifle Zimbabwe's economic prospects through illegal sanctions.
