Corporate Council on Africa Trade Mission to visit Zimbabwe on regional trade mission

Member companies from the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), a nonprofit organization which promotes business and investment between the United States and African nations, will visit Harare from June 4 to 5 as part of a regional trade mission to Zimbabwe and Zambia.  Zimbabwe will be the second stop on this trade mission.

This was revealed by the United States of America Embassy in Harare.

Established in 1993, the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is the premier American organization devoted to U.S.-Africa business relations.

"More than 160 companies are members of the CCA, which represents nearly 85 percent of total U.S. private sector investments in Africa," announced the USA Embassy.

"Member companies come from a diverse pool of industries - including agribusiness, energy, finance, health, information and communications technology (ICT), and infrastructure - and work in some of Africa's most promising sectors."

The Embassy said the CCA helps facilitate business between the United States and Africa through a number of sectors- and country-specific working groups, high-level special events, business conferences, customized member services, trade missions, and advocacy programs.

"The U.S. Embassy is playing a support role for the CCA delegation's visit including the hosting of a reception that will bring together relevant Government of Zimbabwe officials and private sector representatives with the aim of increasing bilateral trade and investment," said the US Embassy. 

"As competition for foreign direct investment on the continent is fierce, CCA member companies will use their time in Zimbabwe and Zambia to assess each country's business climate and comparative advantages."
