Stop buying mice using US dollar, Chinamasa pleads

Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa has lashed out at some Zimbabweans who 'abuse' the precious US dollar by using it to buy 'useless' mice.
Mice are considered a delicacy in some parts of the country.
Chinamasa said the US dollar which is in short supply must be used to procure goods and services that are vital in reviving the economy.
"You buy mazhanje, sweet reeds and mice with the dollar and things like that, it has never happened anywhere" said Chinamasa.
He added "That foreign currency is hard earned foreign currency and should not be used to buy useless things when you get it," saying it is expensive to import US dollars.
Chinamasa said it was surprising that workers are crying to earn US dollars yet they were not exporting anything.
Government has since introduced bond notes in an effort to curb cash shortages.
