ZITF to block public from future exhibitions

Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company is planning doing away with public days and transform the exhibition into a proper business platform.

This year, the trade fair had just two days on which the general public where allowed in, devoting three days to business.

The exhibition chairman, Bekithemba Nkomo, said "In future the ZITF is likely to be an all business trade fair scrapping the public days in line with global trends."

Last week, more than 600 exhibitors took part at the fair with 426 being direct exhibitors and 82 indirect while there were 33 foreign direct exhibitors and 134 foreign indirect exhibitors.

The exhibition park has more than 60 000 square metres but 48 000 square metres was used this year.
