DIMAF UPDATE: No Byo firm would benefit

BULAWAYO collapsed industries risk not getting a slice of the Distressed Industries and Marginalised Funds (DIMAF), a cabinet minister has said. Minister of Industry and Trade Welshman Ncube said chances are now slim that even one distressed firm in the city would benefit.
"From what is happening with the funds, in my view not a single firm in Bulawayo would get a dollar from the fund" said Ncube.
He said, the $10 million that was announced in April is still not distributed saying too much political interference was standing in the way.
"The fund has been hijacked by politicians who are now using it as a political campaign tool. That has been the problem with the inclusive government, ministers are competing for votes using government programmes," he said.
