MESSAGE from His worship the Mayor of Bulawayo, Councillor Thaba Patrick Moyo, to welcome exhibitors and visitors to the 2013 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
The City of Bulawayo is proud to host exhibitors and visitors to the 2013 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
I extend a very warm welcome to delegates and it is my hope that during your brief stay in the city, you will be able to interact and enjoy our hospitality and vibrant culture.
The 2013 ZITF theme is "Building value, growth - weaving a tapestry of international business networks." It is my hope that during this trade showcase, strategic business networks at national, regional and international level will be established. The City of Bulawayo remains committed to facilitating synergies and partnerships that promote development of the city and the nation as a whole.
To facilitate investment into the water and sanitation services, the City of Bulawayo is co-hosting the Water Summit which provides a platform for increased cooperation in the management of water and further brings together leaders, field experts, academic luminaries and business innovators to accelerate the development of new strategies and technologies that promote sustainable water demand management in the country and the City of Bulawayo.
This year, Bulawayo is co-exhibiting with Polokwane Municipality at its pavilion. This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two cities in October 2012.
The memorandum of understanding covers areas of cooperation which include promotion of tourism and cultural relations, agro and industrial processing industries, commerce, trade and investment.
The cooperation also covers transport and logistics, education, sports development and administration exchange programmes.
May I extend my personal invitation to all delegates to visit the city's stand so as to interact with our visitors from Polokwane and get insight into various development and investment opportunities that are on offer.
I thank all dignitaries who are participating in the international trade fair and hope that your stay in the City of Kings will be fruitful and enjoyable.
I commend the general manager of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair and his team for organising an international trade showcase that markets the City of Bulawayo and the country as a destinations of choice for both business and leisure.
