A BULAWAYO Redan Filling Station that was gutted by fire in April has been re-opened after renovations at a cost of about $100 000.
The filling station situated at the corner of 5th Avenue and Main Street near Unity Village Flea Market was gutted by fire in April following an explosion caused by a disconnected hose, which leaked fuel that was ignited by the sparks from a welding machine.
Two fuel tankers were reduced to shells. Fortunately no one was injured.
In an interview yesterday, the filling station owner, Mr Ernest Marima, said the filling station re-opened on Thursday.
