Retailers warned against hiking prices

SHOP owners have been warned against hiking prices this festive season and keeping cash in their business premises to avoid robberies.
It is a norm for shop to increase prices to cash in.
The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers CZR chief executive officer, Willard Razawo in a statement today said their members and the retail sector in general must to avoid keeping cash at home or in their shops safes to avoid incidences of robbery.
"In this regard the CZR is encouraging members to regularly bank daily receipts while also calling upon the banking sector to give the general public and the business community assurances that they will access their money on demand" .
"On pricing the Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers is encouraging retailers to continue offering affordable prices of goods and services and strongly condemns any act of profiteering and speculative behaviour at the expense of the general public".
He said retailers should "have sufficient change in bond coins and smaller note denominations so that they do not inconvenience shoppers"
